According to the municipal page, Ponte Velha was built in 1942 to link Cabo Frio's Tamoios district with Barra de São João in Casimiro de Abreu.
The same source records its deactivation in 1959. Later use mentioned on the older page does not establish present-day safety or access; view the site only from permitted areas and check local guidance.
