Both municipal pages about Ponte Feliciano Sodré record its opening in 1926, after an earlier iron bridge collapsed.
Its design allowed boats carrying salt to pass through the channel. The bridge helps tell the story of travel and the salt trade in Cabo Frio; this page makes no claim about current crossing conditions.
